My stay at Port Douglas Retreat was a mix of positives and negatives. The location is ideal, with a short walk to the beach and shopping areas, although the pool area lacked sunlight. The service was helpful with tour bookings, but not very communicative. The rooms were comfortable but suffered from noise coming from the neighboring building. Dining in the apartment was pleasant, but limited to personal supplies.
The hotel rooms were clean, had everything we needed, and offered a great view of the pool. However, the room refresh service is every 8 days, and extra fees apply for towel replacement or drying. The service was exceptional, going beyond expectations to be helpful and friendly. The location was ideal for beach lovers and those wanting easy access to the town center, although having a car may be necessary. The dining experience was enjoyable within the apartment, and the facilities were convenient and well-maintained.
